Peru balsam-free
Peru balsam is a well known cause of contact allergy. Our products do not contain it.
What is it?
Peru balsam (Myroxylon pereirae) is a natural resin used as a fragrance and fixative in cosmetics. It contains more than 250 different chemical compounds.
Why do we exclude it?
Peru balsam is one of the most frequently tested allergens in patch tests. It consistently ranks in the top 5 of contact allergens. People with a Peru balsam allergy often also react to other fragrance ingredients.
What do we use instead?
Since we don't use fragrance ingredients at all, Peru balsam is by definition absent from our products.
