Paraben-free
Parabens are preservatives commonly found in cosmetics. At Unity Cosmetics we use no type of paraben at all.
What is it?
Parabens (including methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben and butylparaben) are used as preservatives to extend the shelf life of cosmetics. They are effective and cheap, which explains why they are so widespread in the cosmetics industry.
Why do we exclude it?
Research has shown that parabens can, in rare cases, cause skin irritation and contact allergy. Although the EU considers them safe within certain concentrations, we choose to rule out the risk entirely. We use more expensive but safer alternatives.
What do we use instead?
Instead of parabens, we use safer preservatives that are more expensive but carry no risk of allergic reactions. Our formulas are developed so that they keep well even without parabens.
