Kathon-free

Kathon (methylisothiazolinone / MI) is a notorious contact allergen that we exclude entirely.

What is it?

Kathon, also known as methylisothiazolinone (MI) and methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI), is a powerful preservative. Its use in cosmetics has led to a significant rise in contact allergy, and it was named 'allergen of the year' in 2013.

Why do we exclude it?

MI/MCI is one of the most common causes of contact allergy from cosmetics use. The EU has banned its use in leave-on products, but it may still be used in rinse-off products. We exclude it entirely.

What do we use instead?

Our preservatives are carefully selected based on safety for sensitive skin.

Safe for you

Not a single product in our range contains Kathon, MI or MCI.
